In July of 2014, the Innovative Technology Education Fund (ITEF) Board of Directors recognized a need to provide current innovators with skilled and informed professional support to assist the school or project in successfully implementing and managing their funded projects.
The Innovators Guild: A volunteer corps of STEM (Science, Technology, Education and Math) professionals from The Boeing Company, each of whom will be paired with one of the new ITEF 2015 innovators (to be announced at the Art of the Possible event) to troubleshoot, advise, guide and support 2015 funded schools and projects in a manner defined by the innovator.
In February of 2015, the Innovative Technology Education Fund and The Boeing Company formalized their commitment to create the Innovators Guild.
On June 10, ITEF officially launched the Guild by facilitating an orientation for its members. The hour-long orientation was held at the Boeing Company headquarters. We matched nine enthusiastic Boeing volunteers with ITEF’s six 2015 Innovators: Buder Elementary, Crossroads College Preparatory School, Immanuel Lutheran, Notre Dame High School, Rockwood School District and the Soulard School. Guild members will begin providing project support, guidance and trouble-shooting in September.
